Since the beginning of our education, most of us have been taught that money is the ultimate source of financial freedom. So what do we do? We invest tremendous amounts of time in exchange for money. But when we actually sit down and ask ourselves, “What do I want?” “What do I care about most?”— The answer is so much bigger, more personal, and more precious than simply “to accumulate money.”
In today’s episode, we are going to get a sneak peek into what an entrepreneur learns when they sit down with a Wealth Architect to accomplish the goal of creating a roadmap to financial freedom.
Most entrepreneurs are surprised, and even relieved, to discover that they are MUCH closer to financial freedom than they think. The adjustments that need to be made begin with shifting the conditioned belief that money is the most valuable form of wealth.
Money is a renewable resource, while time is our most valuable nonrenewable commodity. True wealth is the freedom to use more of our valuable time to do the things we love, focusing more on our health and spending more time with the people that bring us joy.
When mapping out our year and creating a roadmap to wealth, rather than optimizing for money, we want to look at how we’re going to optimize for non-traditional wealth.
What is non-traditional wealth?
Okay, this is where things get personal, and by personal we mean specific to you as an individual. The first step is to start thinking of your time as your primary value. In today’s episode, you will be given a crash course on how to clearly define what non-traditional wealth means to you, and the process is a fun one.
The first exercise is called The Perfect Day. What is your idea of a perfect day? And we don’t mean a fantasy dreamland sort of perfection where we board a private jet to Tahiti after scoring the winning touchdown in The Super Bowl. Your perfect day is about defining what it would mean to wake up every morning to a schedule that is aligned with your values. What would that ideal schedule entail? For most people, it includes time to enjoy loved ones, take care of their health, and a to-do list full of tasks that play to their strengths and passions. This kind of perfect day isn’t unobtainable. It’s usually just obstructed by the small ways we’ve been conditioned to trade our time for money.
In today’s episode, we will reveal how to emerge with a clear and realistic idea of a perfect day that can be repeated over and over to create your roadmap to financial freedom. We will also discuss how to incorporate the things you want to do weekly and monthly until you’ve mapped out an entire year centered around your values. The goal here is to bring you more joy, more health, and ultimately, more wealth—starting NOW. And don’t miss out on the end of the episode because we’ve also included an exclusive link for scheduling your own private consultation to help you customize and align your roadmap to financial freedom with your personal values.
